XML-RPC Mods

So after spending way too much time fighting XML-RPC, I've decided I just don't want to deal with it. Unfortunately, I know some of my users love it. Dan Switzer sent in some interesting XML-RPC mods. I've checked these into source control. If folks who use XML-RPC can test it, I'd greatly appreciate it. You can find details of his changes here:

My BlogCFC mods for Windows Live Writer

If I can get a few of you guys to A-OK it, I'll make it part of the official zip.

Scott P's Gravatar so I guess asking you to write an air app for image uploads/posting with xml-rpc is out of question now.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar I'd be all over an AIR app - just not one using XML-RPC to communicate.

Dan Vega's Gravatar An AIR app to do something like this would be great. Especially if you could do offline/online sync. I have never done anything like this though. Can you connect remotely using AMF or would you write everything locally and do syncs?

Raymond Camden's Gravatar It would be trivial to store entries in the local DB (remember AIR ships with a db :) until you sync them online.

Dan Vega's Gravatar I will have to take a look at the LCDS 2.6 sync feature and see how easy it is to work with.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar That may be overkill. I don't think we need a 'sync'. What we need is the ability to write a blog post offline and simply push it up when the connection is restored.

Dan G. Switzer, II's Gravatar Windows Live Writer (for those on Windows) does everything you guys are looking for (and it has remote ties to CF via JJ Allaire.) Live Writer allows you to cut-n-paste images into an article (which you write offline) and then upload everything to the server. Works like a breeze. It's not an AIR app, but it works really well.

Scott P's Gravatar +1 on windows live writer except for one small point - the WINDOWS part of it. I've not found anything close to as easy to use for the mac.

Dan G. Switzer, II's Gravatar @Scott P:

You might check out Scribefire for Firefox (if you use Firefox):
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/173...

It should be OS agnostic and offers a lot of the same functions as Live Writer.
